Built-in dining cabinets dried and rebuilt in Spring Valley
We got called out for wet flooring and stained baseboard along a wall of built-in dining room cabinets in a single-story home near Spanish Trail.
The dining room was sealed off first, in case there was mold behind the built-ins. Pulling the cabinet bases, baseboard and the wet flooring strip opened the wall behind them for drying. After it was dry, the cabinet boxes and shelves were rebuilt and finished to match the upper cabinets.

This Spring Valley home sits between Hacienda Avenue and Tropicana Avenue, about half a mile from Echo Trail Park and the Canyon Course golf course. Buffalo Drive is close by, and the 215 Beltway is a couple of miles away.
What we did
- 1 Hung plastic containment with zipper doors around the dining room, in case there was mold behind the cabinets.
- 2 Removed the built-in cabinet bases, baseboard and wet flooring strip along the wall.
- 3 Set the air mover to push air in a circle across the opened wall and floor, with the dehumidifier in the middle and an air scrubber filtering dust and airborne particles like mold spores.
- 4 Rebuilt the cabinet boxes and shelves and finished them to match the upper cabinets.
