Laundry room wall water damage and drywall repair in Anthem
We got called out for water in the kitchen and laundry area of a single-story Anthem home, with wet drywall around the washer box.
Thermal readings along the baseboards showed the wet drywall was around the washer box, so that is where the wall came open. Containment went up before the cut, in case there was mold in the cavity, and the wall was only closed back up once the cavity was dry.

This job was in the Anthem part of Henderson, up in the foothills at the south end of the city. Homes in this area are reached mainly from Anthem Parkway and Eastern Avenue, which lead north toward Horizon Ridge and the rest of Henderson.
What we did
- 1 Took thermal moisture readings along the baseboards.
- 2 Set up plastic containment with a zipper door around the laundry area, in case mold was hiding behind the drywall.
- 3 Removed the baseboard and cut the lower drywall out around the washer box.
- 4 Positioned air movers to send air circling around the laundry room, put the dehumidifier in the middle and ran an air scrubber next to the open wall to filter dust and particles like mold spores.
- 5 Hung new drywall, matched the texture and painted the laundry wall.
