Bathroom wall water and wood floor replacement in Anthem
We got called out for water at a bathroom wall in an Anthem home that had reached the wood floor in the bedroom next to it.
The wet drywall sat beside the vanity, where the supply lines and framing run, and the bedroom on the other side of the wall had wet wood flooring. Plastic containment went up before any cutting, in case mold was behind the wall, and the wet flooring came out before the drying setup went in. Once everything was dry, the bedroom got its wood floor back.

This Anthem home is about half a mile from The Revere Golf Club, with Rio Secco Golf Club roughly a mile away. The main roads nearby are Anthem Parkway and Sun City Anthem Drive, and Eastern Avenue is the quickest way north into the rest of Henderson.
What we did
- 1 Sealed off the bathroom and bedroom work area with plastic containment and a zipper door, in case there was mold behind the wall.
- 2 Cut out the lower drywall beside the vanity to expose the supply lines and framing.
- 3 Broke up and removed the wet wood flooring in the bedroom.
- 4 Set air movers on the bathroom tile floor so the air swirled around the room past the wet surfaces, with a dehumidifier in the center and an air scrubber catching dust and airborne particles such as mold spores.
- 5 Put the bedroom back together with the wood flooring back down.
