Living room and hallway walls dried in Silverado Ranch

We got called out for stained baseboards along the tile floors of a two-story Silverado Ranch home, with wet walls behind them.

We scanned the wall bases room by room with an imaging moisture meter, then covered the fireplace and upper areas before demo. Containment went up next, in case there was mold behind the baseboards, and the drywall was cut up off the floor to open the studs, sheathing and bottom plates along the whole run.

What we did

  1. 1 Scanned the baseboards and lower walls with an imaging moisture meter in each room.
  2. 2 Covered the fireplace and upper areas with plastic sheeting.
  3. 3 Set up plastic containment with zipper doors before any demo, in case there was mold behind the walls.
  4. 4 Pulled the stained baseboards off the walls.
  5. 5 Cut the lower drywall away to expose the studs, sheathing and bottom plates along the whole run.
  6. 6 Set air movers across the tile floors to keep air turning in a circle through the rooms, with dehumidifiers in the middle and an air scrubber filtering dust and airborne particles like mold spores.
