Silverado Ranch, Las Vegas · Water Leak Behind Shower Wall
Shower wall opened and dried in a Silverado Ranch home
We got called out for wet tile and wall board at the base of a shower in a Silverado Ranch house.
The plastic containment and zippered door went up first, in case there was mold behind the tile. Then the lower tile and wall board came off on both sides of the shower pan down to the studs and insulation, and we checked the framing with an imaging moisture meter before drying.

Where this job was
This Silverado Ranch home is off Maryland Parkway near Pebble Road, about half a mile from Duck Creek Park and roughly a mile from Desert Bloom Park. The 215 Beltway is only about half a mile away, and Serene Avenue is close by too.
What we did
- 1 Sealed the work area with plastic sheeting and a zippered door before anything came off, in case there was mold behind the tile.
- 2 Removed the lower tile and wall board on both sides of the shower pan down to the studs and insulation.
- 3 Checked the opened shower wall and framing with an imaging moisture meter.
- 4 Protected the floor and set the air mover to push air around the space in a circle, with the dehumidifier in the middle and an air scrubber filtering dust and airborne particles like mold spores.
