Wet plank flooring replaced in a Green Valley North bedroom
We got called out for water under the plank flooring in a Green Valley North home, reaching the hallway and bedrooms.
Thermal scans along the baseboards showed how far the water had spread, which set where the flooring and lower drywall came out in the hallway and bedrooms. Containment went up before any tear-out, in case there was mold under the flooring or behind the walls. The new plank flooring only went down after the room was dry.

This Green Valley home is off Pecos Road near Windmill Parkway, about half a mile from both Pecos Legacy Park and Green Valley Park. The Legacy Golf Club is close by too, and the 215 Beltway is a couple of miles away.
What we did
- 1 Scanned the baseboards with a thermal moisture meter to see how far the water had spread.
- 2 Set up plastic containment with a zipper door before anything came out, so any mold spores behind the walls would not spread through the house.
- 3 Pulled up the plank flooring and cut out the lower drywall in the hallway.
- 4 Set air movers on the bare subfloor between the opened walls, angled to keep the air turning in a loop, with a dehumidifier in the middle drawing out moisture and an air scrubber filtering dust and airborne particles like mold spores.
- 5 Installed new plank flooring in the bedroom once the room was dry.
