We got called out for mold remediation in an upstairs room of a two-story Southern Highlands home, with visible growth at the base of the wall.
The thermal scan of the walls came first, then the room was lined in plastic and taped off so mold spores would stay in that room while drywall came out. The crew wore protective suits to take the ceiling drywall down to the joists and plumbing lines and to cut out and bag the drywall with visible growth at the wall base.

What we did
- 1 Scanned the walls with a thermal moisture meter.
- 2 Lined the room in plastic sheeting and taped off the work area so spores would not spread to the rest of the house.
- 3 Removed the ceiling drywall to expose the joists and plumbing lines, with the crew in protective suits.
- 4 Cut out and bagged the drywall with visible growth at the wall base.
- 5 Ran an air scrubber inside the containment to filter dust and airborne particles like mold spores, with a dehumidifier in the middle of the room and air movers pushing air around it in a circle.
