Wet ceiling opened, dried and repaired in Paradise Hills
We got called out for wet ceiling drywall in a Paradise Hills home, over the joists, ducts and water lines.
The thermal scan confirmed which ceiling drywall was wet before we cut, and the containment went up next so anything above the ceiling would stay in the work area. Opening it exposed the joists, ductwork and water lines. On the second visit we closed the opening with new drywall and joint compound.

This Paradise Hills home is close to Paradise Hills Drive and Horizon Ridge Parkway, about a mile from McCullough Vista Park. I-11 is roughly a mile away, which makes for a quick trip toward Boulder City or the rest of the valley.
What we did
- 1 Scanned the ceiling drywall with a thermal moisture meter.
- 2 Built a plastic containment with a zipper door around the ceiling work, in case there was mold above the drywall.
- 3 Cut the wet ceiling drywall out to expose the joists, ductwork and water lines.
- 4 Repaired the opened ceiling with new drywall and joint compound.
