First-floor water damage and structural drying in Inspirada
We got called out for water that spread across the first floor of a two-story Inspirada home, through the carpet, a closet doorway and the living room walls.
The thermal scan at the wall base marked which sections were wet before anything came out. Containment with zipper doors went up around the stairway before tear-out, so if mold was behind the walls it would stay in the work area. The wet pad came out and the lower drywall was cut to the studs so the drying could reach the framing.

This Inspirada home is about half a mile from Potenza Park, and The Overlook at Inspirada is roughly a mile away. Via Inspirada and Via Nobila are the main roads close by, with Sun City Anthem Drive and Volunteer Boulevard just beyond them.
What we did
- 1 Scanned the wall base with a thermal moisture meter to mark the wet areas.
- 2 Built plastic containment with zipper doors around the stairway, so any mold spores behind the walls would not reach the rest of the house.
- 3 Pulled back the carpet and pad at the closet doorway and removed the wet pad.
- 4 Cut out the lower drywall along the living room walls to expose the studs.
- 5 Ran air movers in a tornado-like pattern around the rooms to keep air moving over every wet surface, with dehumidifiers in the middle and an air scrubber filtering dust and airborne particles like mold spores.
