We got called out for a stained ceiling in the waiting area of an office suite near Queensridge, with stained ceiling tiles in the offices too.

Before any tiles came down, desks, chairs and cabinets were wrapped in plastic, the floors were protected and each work area got its own zippered containment, in case there was mold above the tiles. Pulling the stained tiles opened the grid to the ductwork above, and the removed tiles were stacked inside the covered office. The ceilings were repaired and the waiting room and offices went back into use.

What we did

  1. 1 Covered desks, chairs and cabinets in plastic and protected the floors.
  2. 2 Built plastic containment with a zipper door around each work area, so any mold spores above the tiles would not spread through the suite.
  3. 3 Pulled the stained ceiling tiles, stacked them inside the covered office and opened the grid to the ductwork above.
  4. 4 Ran an air mover inside the containment during the repair, aimed to keep air circling the room, with a dehumidifier in the middle and an air scrubber filtering dust and airborne particles like mold spores.
  5. 5 Repaired the ceilings and returned the waiting room and offices to use.
